The first Kolkata Derby of the Hero I-League 2014-15 has been rescheduled and the match will now be played on February 11 instead of earlier scheduled January 25 at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan at Salt Lake.

The change in date was necessitated due to the fact that the authorities have expressed their inability to provide police force in view of Saraswati Puja on January 25 and Republic Day the next day.

"Over and above, it is gathered that 26th January, 2015 has been declared as 'Red Alert Day' by the Government of India. This has further made the availability of necessary police force practically impossible," the AIFF said in a release.

The Kolkata Derby, featuring Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, goes down as one of the greatest football rivalries in the world, and the match has a rich history behind it.

East Bengal will be hosting the first derby of the league on February 11, whereas, Mohun Bagan will host the return leg at the same venue on March 28.
