Kashmiri youths have a responsibility to ensure that they are not misled by people who have no conscience, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said here today.
Speaking at the 'Kashmiri Students' Conference' organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, an RSS affiliate, the Minister of State for Prime Minister's Office said it is the youth which has to take responsibility of course correction.
"Some problems have their origins in local context. And it's our youth who have to take responsibility for their course correction. Because we (the youth), in our innocence, fail to comprehend that we are being misled by people who have no conscience...

"It's our responsibility to make sure that the youth are not led astray," he said.
The Government's hope in Kashmir lies in the Valley's youth who have become more "awakened" than in the past and want peace and development, Singh said.
He said politicians should refrain from using different languages in different regions of the state.
"Politicians who talk in one language in Kashmir and adopt a different tone in Jammu and in Delhi have also done 'injustice' to the people of the Valley," the minister said.
He said the youth in the Valley want peace and development which share a reciprocal relationship.
Singh also claimed that the Modi government has given and done for more for the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir in the last two years than has ever been done in the past.
"We have a common stake regardless of our religious affiliation. The aim of any citizen-centric government must be to employ ability and not employment, so that the person can earn his employment," he said.

Noting that 65 to 70 per cent of the country's population is below the age of 40, Singh said India of 2017, belongs to youth who hold key to the future of the Jammu and Kashmir state.
"What we elders fail to realise is that our children have grown wiser, much faster than us and therefore, they can no longer be misled or be-fooled by the double-speak or the tricks of the bygone years," he said.
Lauding their spirit and progressive thinking, Singh said the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are keen to become part of the "fast-track growth" led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and have every right to seek benefit out of it.
He said the number of seats under Prime Minister's Special Scholarship has been increased and some of the related issues are being looked into.
