An India Under-23 team will be taking part in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup, a 50-over-a-side tournament, to be held in Singapore from August 17-25.

The squad, to be picked by the India junior selection panel headed by Chandrakant Pandit, has been grouped with arch-rivals Pakistan (under 23), Afghanistan and Nepal in Group A of the event to be organised at Kallang and Singapore Cricket Club (SSC).

India will take on Pakistan on August 18 at Kallang followed by Nepal (Aug 20) and Afghanistan (Aug 22).

In Group B are the under 23 squads of two other full members of the International Cricket Council - Sri Lanka and Bangladesh - along with UAE and hosts Singapore, according to ACC's website.

The top two teams from each group would advance to the semifinals slated for August 23.

This is the first such age-group venture at the Asian level, according to Cricket Board sources.
