Indian driver shot dead by employer's son in Saudi

A 24-year-old Indian, who had arrived in Saudi Arabia a week ago, was shot dead by his employer's son in Mecca.

Anas Pudvilikalvi from Kerala, who was employed as a driver, died after sustaining several gunshot wounds yesterday, Mecca police spokesman Aati Al-Qurashi said.

"The shooter, who was in his twenties, suffered psychological problems," he said.

"Anas Pudvilikalvi, 24, from Kerala, arrived in Mecca a week ago to work as a family driver. The driver went to Taif on Friday night along with the sponsor's family and returned to Mecca the same night, after which the fateful incident occurred," the Arab News reported, citing a source.
 

The body has been shifted to King Faisal Hospital in Mecca and the shooter has been taken into custody.
