Indian in Saudi Arabia to donate stem cell to save boy's life

An Indian national living in Saudi Arabia will donate stem cell for a local boy who is in dire need of bone marrow transplant.

The Indian, whose name has not been disclosed, emerged as the saviour following a three-day campaign in which around 400 donors expressed their desire to help the Saudi boy, who needs a bone marrow transplant, Saudi Gazette reported.

Jam Al-Mo'alem, head of the medical committee, said around 120 donors signed up on the first day of the campaign while on the next day, there were 225 donors.

The Indian national, who was among them, told the committee that he was aware of the transplant procedures and he wanted to save the boy's life.
