Indian man arrested in Nepal with foreign currencies

An Indian man was today arrested in Nepal for allegedly carrying several foreign currencies, including Indian rupees and US dollars, above the permissible limit.
Nepal's Armed Police Force (APF) arrested the Indian national, Guddu Gupta, during a security check near Nepal-India border area in Nawalparasi district of western Nepal, officials said.
The APF team seized several foreign currencies, including around IRs 310,000, USD 2,286, 2,485 Saudi Riyal and 110,000 Japanese Yen, from Gupta, the officials said.
According to the law in Nepal, it is illegal to carry more than Rs 25,000 in Indian currency without prior permission.
