A book on Oman by a Muscat-based Indian teacher, giving insight into the life and culture of the Arab country, is set for a mid-July release.

The book titled Na Kanda Muscat (The Muscat I've seen), by Kavitha Ramakrishna, will be launched in Bangalore. The book, which is in Kannada langauge, is also being translated into English, a news report said.

The author, who has been living in Oman with her husband and a son, in her writings has tried to capture the distinctive character of this 'unique country'.

"Travelling across the length and breadth of this wonderful country has given me an insight of the country. I wanted the people who speak and read my language Kannada to know about Oman which, I believe, is among the most distinctive countries of the world," Times of Oman quoted Kavitha as saying.

Kavitha is also a Sanskrit language teacher.

"Having lived in Oman for seven years, I feel a sense of belonging and respect for the people, the culture and the heritage that this country upholds. This is well reflected in my writings," she said.
