Infosys shares rose by over 2% ahead of earnings

Shares of Infosys rose by over 2 per cent today ahead of its second quarter results to be announced tomorrow.

The scrip of the IT major went up by 2.19 per cent to end at Rs 1,052.05 on BSE. Intra-day, it jumped 2.71 per cent to Rs 1,057.50.

At NSE, shares of the company rose by 2.17 per cent to settle at Rs 1,052.35.

Volume-wise, 3.51 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 48 lakh shares changed hands at NSE during the day.

Infosys is set to announce its second quarter results on October 14, 2016.
 

Meanwhile, weakness was seen in the stock market where the benchmark Sensex plunged over 439 points to close at a three-month low of 27,643.11.
