Interim budget for KMC

Kolkata Municipal Corporation today tabled the interim budget for next three months.

Mayor Sovon Chatterjee presented the budget with an estimated expenditure for April-June of Rs 698 crore and an income of Rs 702.9 crore.

The civic board will present the full budget, for the next nine months once the general elections were over, the Mayor said.

Opposition Congress councilllors, however, walked out as the Mayor was reading out the budget saying there were lacunae in the figures.
