'Baaman', the first of its kind international photography exhibition, was inaugurated here today where works of various internationally reputed photographers from across the world will be showcased.
Works of international photographers like Matt Brandon (United Kingdom), Dor Kedmi (Israel), Yasir Nissar (Pakistan) and renowned local landscape photographer Mukhtar Ahmad will be on display among others at the three-day exhibition at Kashmir University.
"The event marks a contest between various amateur photographers who will get to interact and involve in a cross platform art exchange," Tabish Habib, who has organised the exhibition, told PTI.

Tabish, who is a passionate photographer herself, said the theme of the exhibition is Kashmir, its rich cultural heritage, people and beautiful landscape.
"We will be coming out with a book based on the photographs on display during the exhibition," the 24-year-old said.
A special section on women empowerment has been curated in association with Kashmir University's Department of Students' Welfare, she said.
Tabish said a viewer's choice award will be given to the most-liked entry based on the feedback from the visitors.
