The Income Tax (IT) department today conducted raid on 22 places of a city-based real estate owner and others associated with him for allegedly evading taxes.
IT sources said that 19 locations of a city based real estate owner were raided today while surveys were on at three.
Sources said that a large quantity of documents were seized from these places which were being examined to find out the amount of tax evaded.

About 125 officers and workers, as well as 140 policemen were pressed into service during the raids at 22 locations, including houses and business establishments of the real estate owner and others connected to him, they said.
The extent of total tax evasion would be known only after completion of the investigation.
