The police today claimed to have rescued a girl with in hours of her alleged kidnapping by a man in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said.
The girl's father had lodged a complaint with police station Ganderbal accusing a person of kidnapping her.
"Within hours of the complaint being filed, police traced the accused and the kidnapped girl," the spokesman said.
After completion of legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her parents, he said adding a case under relevant sections of Ranbir Penal Code was registered in this regard.
