Ahead of Independence day, senior security officers today briefed Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra on the internal and external security management in the state.

"Senior officers of Central agencies, Army and security forces called on Vohra at Raj Bhavan here and briefed him about issues relating to internal and external security management and the emerging security environment," an official spokesman said.

He said General Officer Commanding of Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lt Gen Subrata Saha, Inspector General of BSF Jagat Singh and IG (Operations) Nalin Prabhat were among those who briefed the Governor.

Security has been beefed up across Kashmir valley to ensure peaceful Independence Day celebrations following spurt in infiltration attempts by militants from across the border and increased attacks in the valley.
