J-K: Juvenile facing drug smuggling charges denied bail

A court here today denied bail to a juvenile facing charges of smuggling drugs from Punjab to Kashmir, a police spokesman said.
Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kathua, Amarjeet Singh Langeh rejected the bail application of the juvenile, saying the evidence collected demonstrated that the consignment of narcotics was meant for illegal sale to public at large, particularly to the youth.
The minor was apprehended along with two others at Lakhanpur on December 12 last year, the spokesman said, adding that a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered.
