J-K: SVO books forest officer in disproportionate assets case

The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has booked a forest officer in an alleged disproportionate assets case in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district.
The SVO has registered a case of disproportionate assets against the in-charge Range Officer of Lakhanpur, Pankaj Khajuria, a vigilance officer said.
Sleuths conducted raids at different locations in Kathua district, including the office and residence, of the accused officer, he said.

Acting on a tip-off that the accused had amassed huge wealth, and movable and immovable assets, the teams conducted raids with the help of local police and magistrates, the officer said.
During the raids records and documents pertaining to movable and immovable properties, and benami assets were seized, he said.
Their scrutiny will be carried out during investigation, the officer said.
