J&K SVO books officials of Handloom Development Project

The Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has registered a case against officials of the Export Oriented Handloom Development Project in Samba for irregularities in sale of iron scrap.

The SVO today registered the case after a preliminary inquiry unearthed irregularities in the auction of iron scrap, causing a loss of Rs 7,23,534 to the state exchequer, an official spokesman said here.

The inquiry revealed irregularities in the tender process and sale of the scrap. Due to the irregularities, a loss of Rs 7,23,534 was caused to the state exchequer, the spokesman said, adding that further investigations into the matter are on.
