The family members of three pilgrims, who died in a road accident in Jharkhand's Dumka district, will receive a compensation of Rs 1 lakh each, Chief Minister Raghubar Das announced on Thursday.
Six pilgrims - all from Purnia district in Bihar - were returning from Basukinath temple in the district on Wednesday when an auto-rickshaw carrying them collided with a truck on the Dumka-Bhagalpur road, an official said
While three of them died on the spot, three others who suffered injuries were taken to a hospital in Deoghar.
Expressing his condolences, Das directed the administration to ensure proper treatment for the injured.
