The trailer for James Franco's film adaptation of author Cormac McCarthy's novel 'Child of God' has been unveiled.
Franco directed and adapted the book for the big screen, with Scott Haze portraying deranged, cave-dwelling killer Lester Ballard, reported Ace Showbiz.
Tim Blake Nelson and Franco play lawmen who try to track down Lester Ballard when bodies suddenly go missing from their rural town.
Franco worked on the screenplay with Vince Jolivette, who has produced the actor's previous movies 'Palo Alto' and 'Spring Breakers'.
'Child of God' had its world premiere at the 70th Venice International Film Festival last year.
It will be released on August 1 in the US.
