Scottish movie star James McAvoy is set to make his Broadway debut next week when he takes on The 24-Hour Plays fundraising challenge.

The 'Wanted' hunk will join actors including Jason Biggs, David Cross, Gina Gershon, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Zachary Levi, Julia Stiles and Rosie Perez as they attempt to write, direct and perform six original short plays in just one day, reported New York Daily News.

And Perez cannot wait to team up with 'X-Men: First Class' star McAvoy onstage.

"As a big X-Men geek and fan of James' acting, I'm doubly excited about meeting him," she said.

The annual event will take place on November 18 and will benefit the Urban Arts Partnership, the Big Apple's largest arts education organisation.
