NCP-turned-Shiv Sena leader Jaydutt Kshirsagar paid Rs 50 crore to be inducted in the Maharashtra cabinet, his nephew Sandeep Kshirsagar alleged at a public rally in Beed on Sunday.
Kshirsagar, who made the switch from Nationalist Congress Party to Shiv Sena in May this year after resigning as MLA, was made cabinet minister in the Devendra Fadnavis government on June 16 and was allotted Employment Guarantee and Horticulture portfolios.
Speaking at the NCP's Shiv Sawarajya Yatra in the central Maharashtra city, 380 kilometres from here, Sandeep Kshirsagar said, "Our uncle Jaydutt Kshirsagar paid Rs 50 crore to become a minister. The face of Beed could have been changed with Rs 50 crore."
When he made the allegation, senior NCP leaders like Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde and Shirur Lok Sabha MP Amol Kolhe were present on the dais.
