Jharkhand team for Olympics national championship

A six-member Jharkhand team has been announced to represent the state in Special Olympics Basketball National Championships to be held at Gandhinagar from 21 to 25 May.

Jharkhand organised a week-long training camp at JRD Tata Sports Complex for preparations of the team for this prestigious nationals as probables for World Summer Games will be selected based on their performance here.

A warm up match was also organised today with JRD Tata Training centre team as a part of the preparation for the national meet, said Satbir Singh, Assistant Area Director, SOB Jharkhand.

The team will depart tonight by Howrah Ahmadabad Express.
 

Following are the team members: Tejinder Singh, Anurag Chakerborty, Md Abdul Saquib, Ian Xavior, Md Abdul Shaban and S Poddar. Rajesh Prasad will be the coach of the team.
