JK Govt spent Rs 106 cr for backward regions in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir government today said that an amount of Rs 106.73 crore has been spent under Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) in Jammu province during the last four years.

Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar informed the House that an amount of Rs 106.73 crore has been spent under BRGF in Jammu province during the last four years.

Replying to a question of NC member Shehnaz Ganai in the Legislative Council today, the Minister said 3,871 projects and works have been sanctioned under the scheme during last three years.

He said during the current financial year Action Plans of all the BRGF districts stands submitted to Centre well in time for approval and release of funds, but Centre has sanctioned and approved the Action Plan of District Ramban only and 483 works and projects have been sanctioned and approved during the current financial year in the district.
 

Congress member Jehangir Hussain Mir and PDP member Syed Asgar Ali raised the supplementaries.
