Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh today claimed that he has been offered the post of Governor of Rajasthan and he has accepted the position.

The senior BJP leader said this here when asked about him being offered the gubernatorial post of the BJP-ruled Rajasthan.

Replying in an affirmative tone, Singh said, "He is bound by the decision of BJP High Command, and has accepted it happily".

The senior politician, who was in the city for a medical check-up, meanwhile, also demanded a CBI enquiry in the Meerut gangrape and alleged conversion case.

The law and order situation in UP has "become worse" and the government is not effective in controlling crimes in general and crimes against women in particular, he alleged.

Without naming anyone, Singh said the UP government was being "run by only one family".

Singh also claimed that in the next UP Assembly elections, the BJP will attain absolute majority in the state.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh said, by not signing the agreement with World Trade Organization (WTO), Indian farmers have been benefited.

He further added that BJP government had promised the farmers to raise the sale price of the crops up to 50 per cent.

Whereas WTO regulations had a binding of not raising the crop sale prices by more than 10 per cent, he claimed.
