Kazakh leader calls early presidential vote for April

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev today called an early presidential election in the former Soviet Central Asian country for April.
"In the interests of the people... And for the sake of the... Strict implementation of the law, I have taken a decision and signed a decree calling early presidential elections for April 26," the 74-year-old leader said in a televised address to the nation.
