Keep eyes and ears open against any terror threat: Police

A senior police officer today asked officers and jawans to remain alert against threats from militants during the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra.

"Officers and jawans are to keep their eyes and ears open against any threat from militants and other anti-social elements in view of the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra", Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu region, Rajesh Kumar said, while addressing a meet of over 1,000 officers and jawans of the district police today.

The IGP directed officers to promptly respond to public complaints, be friendly with the people and avoid human rights violations.

Kumar emphasised on surprise checks and establishing special check posts for checking vehicles and directed them to increase night patrolling.
 

The IGP asked officers to reach out to the common people, particularly in remote and border areas and seek their cooperation and assistance in curbing the menace of infiltration and movement of terrorists.
