Kelly Rowan to star on 'Castle' season eight

"The OC" actress Kelly Rowan has signed on to guest star on season eight of the crime drama television series "Castle".

Rowan, 49, best known for portraying Kirsten Cohen on "The OC", will play Carla Feller, the dean of a prestigious university hit hard by the mysterious death of one of its students on the show, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"The Perception" actress will appear in an episode slated for early October.

She joins season eight additions including Toks Olagundoye, Sunkrish Bala, Jack Coleman and Adam Baldwin, among others.

"Castle" returns on September 21 on ABC.
