Khalsa College professor granted over Rs 20 lakh for research

Balwinder Singh has been awarded the funds by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under a fast-track scheme for young scientists, college principal Daljit Singh said.

"This research project will focus on management of diseases, infecting potato plants in Punjab," he said, adding that potato, which is emerging as a major cash crop in the state, is susceptible to various diseases.
