A minor Dalit girl, who was allegedly kidnapped two days ago, was found today near a temple in Rajiv Colony area of the district with her family alleging that she was raped.
Police have registered a case under Section 363 of Indian Penal Code (kidnapping) and said that a case of rape will be registered only after ascertaining the facts, said Upendra Yadav, Station In-Charge of Sahibabad police station.
The family members of the girl alleged that she was kidnapped by their neighbour, Subhan, two days ago and he dumped her near a temple here today.
They also claimed that the girl was raped by the youth and police was trying to hush up the matter.
The girl has been sent for medical examination.
