Kidney of brain dead person given to woman patient

The kidney of a brain dead person was successfully transplanted into a 42-year-old woman at a city hospital here today.

The cadaver kidney transplant took place at the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Government Hospital.

The kidney of a brain dead patient Manpal (36) of Haryana, who was admitted at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, was transplanted into Ushi Devi of Alwar at the SMS Government Hospital, said Ajit Singh, Additional Superintendent of the SMS Hospital.

"The transplant which was done by the team of Dr Vinay Tomar, HoD of Urology Department, was successful," he said.
