KNLA militant nabbed

The Chairman of militant outfit Karbi National Liberation Army (KNLA) was apprehended today by a joint team of police, Army and CRPF 20th battalion from Karbi Anglong hill district of Assam, a police official said.
KNLA supremo Chingthong Singnar alias Hampang Timung was nabbed from Maikro village under Chokihola police station of Bokajan subdivision during the joint operation there, district Superintendent of Police Mukdhyajyoti Mahanta said.
One 7.65 mm pistol, one hand grenade, a mobile phone, 56 extortion demand notes and several receipt pads were recovered from Singnar, Mahanta said.
