Special religious discourses, hymns, kathas and community kitchens were held in decorated temples.
Tableaux, depicting life and message of Lord Krishna, marked the celebrations, sources said, adding, women kept fast on the occasion and they were joined by men as well at several places in the twin states.
'Baal-Gopal'(child Krishna) was placed in 'jhulas'(swings) which were ceremonially swayed by devotees.
A large gathering of followers of Jai Krishani Panth converged at different temples across the region.
