Labourer gets 10 years RI for sexually assaulting child

A labourer has been sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment by a court here for sexually assaulting a two-and-half year old girl in 2013.

Fast Track Mahila Court and Sessions Judge R Anburaj held Selvaraj of Nedupadigal village guilty of sexually assaulting the child and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.

According to prosecution, Selvaraj had committed the crime on January 13, 2013 and acting on a complaint from the girl's father police registered a case and arrested him.
