Lankan court extends remand of Indian fishermen

A Sri Lankan court today extended the remand of 32 fishermen of Karaikal, arrested by Lankan Navy in October last year, till January 20.
The fishermen were arrested on October 16 last year when they were fishing near Kodiyakarai on charges of crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line.
The fishermen were produced before a Trincomalee magistrate court which extended their remand, S Amstrong Fernando, 'Pamban Nesakarangal Trust' president and a representative of the fishermen, told PTI from Sri Lanka over phone.
