Lead down by 0.7% on global cues

Speculators reduced exposures amid a weak trend in base metals in global markets and subdued domestic demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices eased by 0.71% to Rs 118.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposures amid a weak trend in base metals in global markets and subdued domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in December shed 75 paise, or 0.71%, to Rs 118.10 per kg in a business turnover of 1,160 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in January next year shed 80 paise, or 0.67%, to Rs 119.35 per kg in 76 lots.

Marketmen said a weak trend in base metals overseas and subdued demand at spot markets led to the fall in lead futures.
