Lead prices fell 0.41 per cent to Rs 109.55 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced positions due to decline in demand from battery makers.

However, the metal's strength at the London Metal Exchange restricted the fall.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in April traded lower by 45 paise, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 109.55 per kg in a business turnover of 45 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in March shed 45 paise, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 108.55 per kg in 330 lots.

Market analysts said subdued demand from battery makers in the domestic spot market mainly put pressure on lead futures here.
