Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead futures traded higher by 0.26 per cent to Rs 116.25 per kg today on a firming trend at domestic spot markets on increased demand from battery-makers, even as metal weakened overseas.

In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July month traded higher by 30 paise, or 0.26 per cent, at Rs 116.25 per kg, with a turnover of eight lots.

Metal for delivery in June also rose by 15 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to trade at Rs 115.45 per kg in 126 lots.

Marketmen said rising demand in the domestic spot markets from domestic battery-makers and other consuming industries supported the upside in lead futures here but weakness in base metals at the London Metal Exchange as the dollar strengthened before the monthly report on US employment limited the gains.
