Lead down 0.1% on overseas cues

Metal for delivery in August contracts traded lower by 10 paise, or 0.08%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead futures traded a shade lower at Rs 116.90 per kg today largely in tandem with a weak trend overseas and subdued demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in July fell marginally by 15 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 116.90 per kg in business turnover of 358 lots.

Also, the metal for delivery in August contracts traded lower by 10 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 117.70 per kg in 11 lots.

Marketmen said besides subdued demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, a weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange on China's growth concerns, put pressure on lead prices at futures trade.
