Lead rises by 0.7% on spot demand

Taking positive cues from global market and pick up in domestic demand, lead prices were up by 0.73% to Rs 109.80 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery this month edged up by 80 paise, or 0.73% to Rs 109.80 per kg in a business turnover of 458 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month February rose by 70 paise, or 0.64% to Rs 110.20 per kg in four lots.
According to market analysts, the rise in lead futures is due to pick up in demand from battery-makers in the spot market and a firm global trend.
