A murder convict, who was serving life imprisonment and jumped parole, has been arrested from Himachal Pradesh, police said here today.
The convict, identified as Inderjit Singh, a resident of Kartarpur, had fled to HP after getting married while out on parole, SP Harkanwalpreet Singh Khakh said.
Acting on a tip off, Jalandhar Rural police arrested the convict from HP, Khakh said.

Inderjit was sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted in a murder case in 2009, he said.
He came out on parole in February 2013 for the seventh time and jumped it, Khakh said.
While on run, Inderjit threatened the family members of the person he had murdered, he said, adding that Punjab and Haryana High court had declared Inderjit 'absconding' in January this year after the victim's father filed a writ petition in this regard.
A case has been registered against him and an investigation is on, the SP added.
