District excise officials raided an illegal liquor godown at Bhuda village here and seized 885 bottles of smuggled alcohol, a senior official said today.
Acting on a tip-off, a raid was last night carried out on property belonging to one Ram Das during which officials discovered the illegal godown stocked with bottles of smuggled alcohol, including country liquor," said excise officer Kuldeep Yadav.
However, the female members of Das's family put up a resistance which helped him get away, he said. A search has been launched to nab Das, Yadav added.
