Locals protest after cow carcasses found in Bulandshahr

Tension prevailed in Arniya area in the district today after carcasses of seven cows were found near a police station leading to protests by locals who blocked the NH-91 here and pelted stones on police.

Two constables were constables were injured in the stone pelting by agitators when police tried to clear the highway for traffic movement in the morning, police said.

The carcasses were found from a jungle near the Arniya police station . A case has been lodged against unknown persons in this connection, SP (rural) Jagdish Sharma said.

According to SSP Soniya Singh, Arniya SHO and a sub-inspector of the area have been suspended for dereliction of duty following the recovery of carcasses.
