Lindsay Lohan's father Michael has insisted on taking the blame on him for his daughter's drink and drug addiction.
Michael, 53, said the breakdown of his marriage to wife Dina had been the trigger, reported Daily Mirror.
"I don't think Lindsay needs to take the blame for anything. The blame was down to Dina and me. It wasn't her fault. Her problems would never have happened if Dina and I didn't get divorced. It was not her fault. I love her for saying that, but there was no need to say it," he said.
He said that Lindsay, who is battling every day to stay sober, is getting stronger and should be back making hit movies within a year.
"I am so pleased with how far she has come She has got a gift and now she finally can use it again.
