Lokayukta appointment before budget presentation: Shettar

"As per the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court, the government will appoint the new Lokayukta," he told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar organised by the Indian Institute of Public Administration.

Lokayukta's post has been vacant since the resignation of Shivraj V Patil on September 19, 2011 over his alleged involvement in a land scam.
