Lt Guv seeks expeditious sanction of funds for tourism projs

Lt Governor of Puducherry Lt General (retired) A K Singh today sought from the Centre expeditious sanction of funds for various tourism related projects in the Union Territory.

He conveyed this to Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Mahesh Sharma at a meeting in New Delhi.

According to a press release from the office of Lt Governor, Singh discussed with the Central Minister release of funds for projects already approved for Puducherry.

Sharma assured him that at least 50 per cent of the funds due for release would be made available by next month, the release said.

Sharma was also told that proposals worth Rs 80 crore submitted by Puducherry government to the Union Ministry of Culture for renovation of heritage buildings in the Union Territory were awaiting approval.
 

The minister gave an assurance in this regard, it said.
