The Maharashtra government plans to bring cloth bags into the market to ensure citizens are not inconvenienced due to the ban on plastic which was enforced across the state from March 18, state Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam told the Assembly today.
Replying during a debate on budget demands, Kadam said that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation would be given a fund of Rs 5 crore for this purpose.
