BJP's Maharashtra state unit president Devendra Fadnavis said here today that if the Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI grand alliance ("Mahayuti") comes to power, the government would scrap load shedding within six months.

Addressing a meeting of farmers at Bhokardan today, he lambasted the Congress-led Democratic Front government of Maharashtra for its "anti-farmer policy", and alleged that its leaders had looted the grants meant for farmers.

He said that instead of helping farmers facing hardship due to the drought situation, the Maharashtra government had usurped grants meant for them.

He accused Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar of usurping irrigation funds and said that he had committed irregularities to the tune of Rs 70,000 crore in the irrigation scam.
