Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao visited the newly formed Palghar district and toured some of the places in the district.
During the visit yesterday, Rao also attended a programme organised at Girls Ashram Shala at Ashagad.
Addressing students Governor said that besides opting for medical, engineering and law studies, students can also make career in politics and can become successful MPs and MLAs and serve the society.
At his welcome, when a group of students presented a song in English, Rao insisted them to sing in Marathi, which was appreciated by both students and teachers.
Palghar MP Chintaman Wanga was also present on the occasion and also requested the governor to visit other schools in remote areas of Jawhar, Mokhada and Talasari.
