A woman was arrested today for allegedly stealing money from a foreign tourist staying at a guest house on the banks of the Dal Lake here, police said.
Christian Cornelis Jacopus, a citizen of Netherlands, lodged a report at the Nishat police station here claiming that his money was stolen by someone from his place of stay in the Ishbar area, a police spokesman said.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed after a case was registered on the complaint, he said.
The SIT solved the case with the arrest of a woman and recovery of the stolen money - Rs 3.72 lakhs and 400 Euros, the spokesman said.
The arrested woman worked as a maid at the guest house, he said.
