Police arrested a man in a shooting that injured two women at a Toronto university and prompted a campus lockdown, officials said today.

Kemon Edwards, 22, is facing multiple charges, including discharging a firearm and aggravated assault.

Police said they don't believe that the two female students were specifically targeted in the March 6 shooting at York University's food court.

One woman was shot in the leg and was taken to hospital, while the second woman was injured by shrapnel.

Police said they do not yet have a motive for the shooting. Toronto police constable Victor Kwong said the suspect is also facing a number of drug possession and drug-related charges.
