Man done to death while escorting pregnant wife from hospital

: Escorting his pregnant wife from a hospital, a 25-year old man was Friday hacked to death by a lone assailant, footage of which was captured on CCTV at the institution.

The assailant used a butcher's knife to attack the victim on the neck, police said.

A senior police official said they were also probing whether the girl's family was involved in the killing as the man belonged to a Scheduled Caste.

The deceased was an employee of a private firm, who had got married six months back

"The two were coming from a hospital when the husband was attacked. It was recorded in the CCTV at the hospital. We are verifying the footage," Miryalaguda sub-inspector Nagarajus said.
